Party Puppy Chow

Party puppy chow brings back so many memories from my teenage years.

This party puppy chow is similar to a recipe my friend would make whenever we would get together at her house for movie parties, sleepovers, or when were simply hanging out.

She made the best puppy chow I have ever eaten. She brought it for a snack to share at events and she always made sure to bring a big batch because she knew it would be gobbled up really quickly!

It’s interesting how certain snacks or foods can bring back such memories.

Recipe

Prep time: 20 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

14 Cups – Rice Chex (approximately one 18 ounce box)

¾ Cup – Creamy peanut butter

1 ½ Cups – Semi-sweet chocolate chips

6 Tablespoons – Salted butter

1 ½ Teaspoons – Vanilla extract

2 ½ cups – Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl measure out the chex cereal.
  2. In a medium sized saucepan on medium heat, stir together peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter.
  3. Continue to stir occasionally until ingredients are completely melted.
  4. Pour on top of chex cereal. Carefully mix until chocolate mixture evenly coats the cereal.
  5. Pour powdered sugar on top of the coated cereal. With a clean spoon stir the powdered sugar onto the cereal until the powdered sugar completely coats the cereal.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

To keep puppy chow fresh, store in airtight container. You may store it this way for up to 2 weeks.
