Ingredients

1 ½ Cups – Warm water

2 Teaspoons – Granulated sugar

1 Package – Active dry yeast

1 Tablespoon – Olive oil

1 Teaspoon – Salt

2 ½ Cups (+ ½ cup) – Flour

½ Tablespoon – Olive oil

Directions

  1. In a medium sized bowl, add warm water, sugar and yeast. Let it sit for ten minutes so the yeast can activate.
  2. After the ten minutes are up, mix in the oil and salt. Slowly add ½ cup of flour at a time.
  3. Sift ¼ cup of flour onto the counter. Pour the dough onto the flour. Knead the dough for five to ten minutes on the counter. Form a ball with the dough.
  4. Place the dough ball back into the bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit on the counter for twenty minutes to rise.
  5. After twenty minutes time, remove the plastic wrap. Using the remainder of the flour, sift the flour on the counter, place the dough ball on top of the flour and roll out the dough to the size of the baking pan.
  6. Oil the entire baking pan with the ½ tablespoon of olive oil.
  7. Place the rolled out dough onto the baking pan. Add the desired toppings and bake in a preheated (425 degrees) oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes or until the bottom of the crust is golden brown.
