Warm up this winter with a delicious bowl of steaming chili. This simple classic chili is a tasty but quick meal to serve to your family. Double the recipe and bring it to a potluck.

Simple Classic Chili Recipe
1 Pound – Ground beef
1 – Medium yellow onion, chopped
1 Teaspoon – Salt
½ Teaspoon – Black pepper
1 Tablespoon – Minced garlic
2 Tablespoons – Chili powder
1 Tablespoon – Cumin
½ Tablespoon – Oregano leaves
1 (15 Ounce) Can – Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15.5 Ounce) Can – Pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 Cup – Beef broth
1 Cup – Mild salsa
1 (15 Ounce) Can – Petite diced tomatoes
Directions
- In a large pot, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook on medium heat until the beef is browned. Season the beef with salt, pepper and garlic.
- Add the remaining ingredients, and bring to a low boil.
- Turn down the heat to low, and simmer for twenty minutes.
- Garnish with your favorite toppings, pair with a side of cornbread and enjoy!
Notes
To add some nice kick to this simple classic chili add ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
